I am #supermuch excited to be getting all stickery with you at Spring CUE this year! A few years ago, after an EPIC weekend of CUE Rockstar TOSA Edition, and all kinds of conversations about stickers, my friend, Ann Kozma, had this incredible idea to host a sticker swap at CUE conferences because, hey! Who doesn’t love stickers? Stickers are so many things. They can be counted as social capital. They tell a story of where you’ve been and who you’ve spent time with And they can act as little hugs from all your education adventures. To spread all the sticker joy, the Sticker Swap was born!

I missed the very first sticker swap, but after hosting the #Supermuch EdTech Sticker Swap event at Spring CUE 2019, I had teachers asking me about how to create their own stickers. I mean, it’s cool to collect stickers but it’s even cooler to have your own to pass out! Subsequently, I hosted a CUE Masterclass with Ed Campos Jr., who is a sticker MASTER, on sticker creation. That led to an online sticker swap at Spring CUE 2020, which we replicated at Fall CUE 2020.

I think sticker creation is about so much more than just making something – it’s really about weaving your own personal brand into something tangible that you’ll give others as a memento of spending time with you. I know it sounds weird as educators to be thinking about a “personal brand,” but these days, you are your brand and you need to own it and share it widely! So, in my workshop, we are going to spend some time considering our personal brands to help generate ideas for how your stickers might take shape. We’ll explore design principles in order to determine the best color scheme, font selection, and layout for your stickers, and then we’ll look at all the different ways you can get your stickers printed to share with your audience. It’s going to be #supermuch fun and I hope I’ll see you there!
