Dr. Toutoule Ntoya, an educational consultant with Pivot-Ed, is excited about presenting at CUE BOLD this weekend.
The first time BOLD presenter and Featured Speaker, will join fellow Equity in Action CA co-founders for a kick-off session on Sunday morning before presenting his afternoon session on design thinking.
“We are going through a design thinking session where we will be using tech tools to actually design a backyard garden,” he gushes of his Sunday session, encouraging attendees who would like to learn more about the design process and practical application of it to join him.
“CUE BOLD is needed right now,” Dr. Ntoya states. “I think you can feel lonely inside of your building walls – especially if you are constantly looking at ways to innovate. BOLD allows you that opportunity to see and experience fresh new ideas to try in your classroom.”
Dr. Ntoya, a self-proclaimed STEAM junky, is looking forward to his weekend session and hopes to integrate his love of STEAM into his work. “I am really passionate about authentic engagement and authentic creation opportunities for our students,” he states. “I love STEM/STEAM integration and how the integration can do both engage our students and give them creation opportunities. It’s like a two-fer.”
When asked how he differentiates himself from other presenters, he joked. “If I told you, I’d have to kill you,” he says with a smile. “[All joking aside]…my energy and passion I have for all things STEM/STEAM. I am also genuinely interested in ensuring that all voices have a chance to contribute in the session.”
Dr. Ntoya’s work with Equity in Action has brought him into the CUE community. “CUE is a collection of awesome educators and I believe it is a wonderful place to build your network and learn,” he states of the organization.
