Sylvia Duckworth – Sylvia is an award-winning Canadian teacher and sketchnoter with 32+ years classroom experience. She is a Google Certified Innovator and Trainer, Apple Distinguished Educator, and author of the books “Sketchnotes for Educators” and “How to Sketchnote: A Step-by-Step Manual for Teachers and Students”. Sylvia will lead two sessions, Intro to Sketchnoting and Sketchnoting Deep-Dive, which will build from scaffolding sketchnoting skills to more advanced aesthetic techniques and tips and tricks for sketchnoting in live-time.

Rachelle Dene Poth – Rachelle Dene is Spanish and STEAM: What’s nExT in Emerging Technology Teacher at Riverview Junior Senior High School in Oakmont, PA. Rachelle Dene is also an attorney with a Juris Doctor degree from Duquesne University School of Law and a master’s in Instructional Technology. She serves as the President of the ISTE Teacher Education Network and the Communications Chair for the ISTE Mobile Learning Network and is the recipient of the 2019 ISTE Making IT Happen Award and Presidential Gold Award for volunteer service to education.
Author of ‘In Other Words: Quotes That Push Our Thinking” and “The Future is Now: Looking Back to Move Ahead,” Rachelle Dene’s other titles include “Unconventional Ways to Thrive in EDU” and “Chart A New Course.” As a contributing author, she wrote a chapter in Education Write Now, Volume 3, and contributed to several editions of the EduMatch Snapshot in Education. Her blogs are featured on DefinedSTEM, Neo LMS, and Getting Smart.
In Rachelle Dene’s session Unreal Learning Experiences: Exploring and Storytelling in AR and VR, educators will learn how to integrate AR and VR to engage students and inspire creativity and curiosity.

Nicholas Provenzano – Nicholas is the Technology Coordinator and Makerspace Director at University Liggett School in Michigan. He is also an author, makerspace builder, international keynote speaker, and consultant. He writes on his website, TheNerdyTeacher.com, Edutopia.org, as well as many other prominent educational websites.
Nicholas has been featured on CNN, Education Week, and recognized as the Technology Teacher of the Year by MACUL and ISTE. Nicholas is a Google Certified Innovator, ASCD Emerging Leader, Microsoft Minecraft Mentor, Raspberry Pi Certified Educator, Adobe Education Leader, and a TEDEd Innovative Educator. In his Spring CUE 2020 session, Nicholas will share the important role that project-based learning and makerspaces play in supporting student agency.
Brett Salakas – Brett is an international keynote speaker, an author, the founder of #aussieED (the largest online network of teachers in Australia), and the co-founder of the ED Poets Society. He works for the NSW Department of Education in Strategic Partnerships and Engagement.
Brett is a Primary School teacher and Google Certified Innovator who, over the past 20 years, has taught in South East Asia and Australia. He is passionately committed to turning educational theory into real classroom practice. For Brett, it’s all about Connection, collaboration, and innovation!
Brett’s session ‘The Meta of Greta’, will put ideology aside and examine the combination of attributes that have enabled Greta Thunberg to become a global phenomenon. He will encourage participants to determine the modern pedagogical practices that can be put in place to support students in the development of similar ‘meta-traits.’

Claudio Zavala, Jr. – Claudio is an edtech coordinator and consultant based in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Passionate about fostering creativity in the classroom and using creation tools to enrich learning and experiences in the classroom, Claudio is an Adobe Education Leader, Alpha Squirrels, Flipgrid Ambassador, Google Certified Educator, and a Participate Community Advisor.
In addition to his roles as an educator and trainer, Claudio has vast experience in music, photography and cinematography. He uses this knowledge to help educators build their storytelling skills with various digital tools. Claudio is passionate about helping students, teachers and more tell their stories!
Claudio has presented to many educators, administrators, and others at various national and international conferences, including SXSWEdu, ISTE, FETC and ASCD.
