Empower your Students to become Published Authors.
Shutterfly’s Photo Story is a fun, easy to use and versatile app that will inspire teachers to use iPads into the classroom while motivating students to do their best work by allowing them to produce a published book. With over 1 million downloads, this intuitive app provides a personalized learning opportunity for students in every grade level by helping them document their projects and publish their stories with text, photos, audio clips and Doodles in a digital book. Students also have the ability to print their book as a lasting artifact of their learning. Shutterfly has a website dedicated to helping teachers integrate Photo Story into their classroom with teacher-developed lesson plans across subject areas (ELA, Social Studies and Science and more) and for all grade levels, each aligned with Common Core/State Standards.
This is a hands-on, "Make-and-Take" seminar at Shutterfly’s Redwood City headquarters. Led by an Apple Distinguished Educator, teachers will practice and apply newly acquired skills. Participants will learn how technology can motivate students to become critical thinkers, imaginative creators, and digital leaders, and help them achieve beyond their expectations. You will leave with inspiring ideas that you can implement in your classroom and a free photo book created during this workshop. There is no cost to participate. The only requirements are to bring an iPad with Photo Story installed on it.
