Brought to you by Computer Using Educators (CUE), the first Google Apps EDU Certified Training Organization (and the producers of the Google Teacher Academy), this workshop prepares participants to pass the 6 tests necessary to become a Google Apps EDU Qualified Individual or a Google Apps EDU Certified Trainer. Learn to make the most of the Google Apps EDU Training Center in sessions led by Certified Trainers. A full day of fast-paced presentations and hands-on activities includes experience with Google Docs, Google Calendar, Google Sites, the Google Apps Dashboard and more, including the Google Apps Marketplace. A18- Leading Edge-Online Teacher Certification

Are you interested in teaching online, but unsure where to start, or are you already teaching online and want to enhance your skills? The Leading Edge Alliance, a partnership formed of nonprofits, universities and regional educational service agencies has developed a certification program for K-12 teachers. The certification is a national program to prepare instructional leaders for online learning. Content includes building community, moderating discussions, supporting diverse learners, and implementing frequent formative assessments. Time to complete the curriculum is estimated at six to eight weeks, including portfolio work, but will vary based on participants’ experience with the tools used. ADEC Summit XXIII at CUE 2012 Online Educators Collaborating to Succeed
The Alliance for Distance Education in California (ADEC) is conducting its eLearning Summit at the CUE 2012 Conference.  Panelists will discuss the following topics:  Access to digital textbooks and other 21st century learning materials; Blended learning: one size doesn’t have to fit all; Effectively implementing an educational future that involves digital citizenship, digital literacy, social media and more; Effective preparation of graduates to use social media and other digital tools in their search for employment.  Open discussion is encouraged before the Summit on the ADEC online community and throughout the Summit during the panel sessions and other activities.  The Summit will begin with coffee and tea and end with a reception.  Costs of lunch, appetizers, and non-alcoholic drinks are included in the registration fee.  For Summit updates and discussions, visit adec-ca.org.   BYOL
